Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology (1967)

Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology is a public institute that provides post-secondary training and education to prepare students for the practical workplace. The institute offers over 100 full-tine programs, taught by 600 professional faculty members and 2,500 part-time business faculty members.

Blanche Macdonald (1960)

Blanche Macdonald Centre is Canada’s largest private makeup school and also offers a wide selection of fantastic programs in Hair, Fashion Design and Merchandising, Esthetics (Make-up, Skin Care, and Manicure/Pedicure).

The Blanche Macdonald Centre has two locations in Vancouver. British Columbia Institute of Technology BCIT (1964)

British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is a government-funded technology institute, the only technical public school in British Columbia. BCIT prepares thousands of students to join the workforce every year. Each of the four BCIT campuses in Vancouver is equipped with basic and advanced facilities for student use. The more than 50,000 citizens and immigrants that make up the student population can choose from over 130 programs, including three practical programs designed especially for international students. Camosun College (1971)

Camosun College is located on Canada’s west coast in the beautiful tourist destination of Victoria, British Columbia (BC). Camosun College is one of the BC’s largest community colleges offering over 150 programs to approximately 12,500 students, including over 700 students from more than 55 different countries. Camosun was established in 1971 and has a reputation for excellence in applied instruction and student service. College of New Caledonia (1969)

College of New Caledonia (CNC) is located in Prince George, British Columbia. A typical small Canadian city, Prince George has approximately 80,000 people and is both safe and economical to live in. Students with the traveling bug can hop on the plane and be in Vancouver in an hour or jump in the car and drive four hours to Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountains.

Of the 4500 students currently attending CNC, 125 are international students. First- and second- year university- transfer courses are offered in the arts, social sciences, and practical sciences as well as commerce and business management. Student can also register for any of the more than forty certificates and diploma programs. After completing a university-transfer program, many students of CNC are successful in transferring to the University of Northern British Columbia, also located in Prince George.

Columbia College (1936)

Columbia College is a liberal arts college featuring both first- and second-year university transfer courses and a university-preparatory senior secondary program. Situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Columbia lies within walking distance of shopping centres, restaurants, and theatres, as well as the city's handy bus and skytrain services, making life convenient for its students. The student body of the college is drawn largely from foreign countries, especially those of the Pacific Rim, but also those of Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa, all mixing with the Canadian contingent to produce a truly international atmosphere.

North American students generally proceed to university either directly from high school or upon completion of a one- to two-year university transfer program at a community or independent college. Columbia is one such institutes, whose transfer courses enable students to adapt to university-level studies in the personal atmosphere of a two-year college program. Coquitlam College (1982)

Established in 1982, Coquitlam College is accredited by the Private Post-Secondary Education Commission of British Columbia (PPSec) and has provided exceptional education services since its inception. Coquitlam, the city in which it is situated, has a population of approximately 110,000 and features safe, public access to hospitals, police and fire departments, parks and recreation centers, libraries, shopping centers, skating rinks, and hiking trails. Of the 1500 students at the College, 1000 are enrolled in the University Program, which offers over 100 university transferable courses. The course content, governing regulations, and school policies at Coquitlam are modeled after those of British Columbia's four major universities, to ensure that students wishing to continue their studies are able to transfer their credits to any North American university. Students also have the option of completing a one-year certificate program, a two-year diploma program, or an English studies program. Douglas College (1970)

Douglas College’s students can choose from a variety of academic and career-related programs, and six faculties provide for university transfer. Although some programs are restricted to local students, the majority are open to international applicants.

An attraction for many overseas students is Douglas College's ESL program, which is very comprehensive because the college is a member of the Council of Second Language Program of Canada. This program is designed for international students who need to fine-tune their English before entering a college or university program. Immediately upon completion of the ESL program, students are allowed to register for non-ESL courses. Students find that starting out at Douglas College makes it easier for them to enter local universities, where entrance standards are high. Every year, nearly 1,000 Douglas College students transfer to universities both within and outside of British Columbia, including Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia, and the University of Victoria.

George Brown College (1967)

George Brown College is one of the largest community colleges in Toronto to receive government funding. The institute's three campuses are located in downtown Toronto, a center of business, arts and modern culture. Georgian College offers over 50 diploma and degree option programs, and over 20 certificate and post-diploma programs. It has 3 campuses; Barrie, Orillia and Owen Sound and has a total full time student population of approximately 5,000 with over 200 international students. Langara College (1965)
Langara College has a reputation for its experienced, expert instructors and exceptional students. Situated in a quiet residential area of Vancouver, the college has approximately 8000 students, 75% of whom are taking first- or second-year university transfer courses. The majority of these university-bound students are headed for either the University of British Columbia or Simon Fraser University. Those not in the university transfer program are enrolled in the thirty-one diploma and certificate career programs, including Business Administration, Computers, Education, Nursing, Catering, Practical Arts, and Communications.

Over 800 international students attend Langara College, which features part-time summer ESL courses and Langara English for Academic Purposes, or LEAP. LEAP is a specialized ESL program designed for students who have met all post-secondary admission requirements except for the English criteria. The program consists of various exercises to strengthen students' ability to learn and excel in an English environment.

Niagara College (1960)

Niagara College is only an hour from Toronto and 45 minutes from Buffalo, New York, U.S.A. Niagara College offers over 80 full-time Diplomas, Graduate Certificates, Bachelor Degrees and Apprenticeship Training including Business and Entrepreneurship, Computer Studies, Construction/Mechanical Engineering Studies, Electrical/Electronics Engineering and Photonics, Hospitality and Tourism, Media and Design, and ESL.

North Alberta Institute of Technology NAIT (1962)

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) welcomes approximately 1,000 international students from all over the world. The number of international students has grown as NAIT’s reputation for quality education becomes more well-known.  NAIT offers over 200 program including Business, Information and Communications Technology, Engineering Technologies, Hospitality, Health Sciences, and English as a Second Language (ESL) programs. 93% of NAIT graduates are employed within six months of graduating. International students are eligible to work in Alberta for up to two years after graduating from NAIT.

North Island College (1975)

North Island College (NIC) is a community college located primarily on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It was established in 1975.

The college comprises a number of sizeable campuses and smaller community centres. The main campus is in the Comox Valley, but there are also campuses in Campbell River and Port Alberni. Some of the more remote communities on the Island — Ucluelet, Port Hardy, and Gold River — have access centres. The college also has access centres outside Vancouver Island, in Bella Coola and on Cortes Island.

NIC offers over 70 credit programs and 730 individual courses. There are co-op programs for studies in Applied Business Technology, Adventure Tourism, Business Administration, Information Technology and Computer Science, and Tourism and Hospitality. Liberal Arts and Nursing degrees are held in partnership with Vancouver Island University , and Fine Arts degree is held in partnership with the Emily Carr University.

Okanagan College (1963)

Okanagan College is situated in an exquisitely beautiful part of Canada. While this college has campuses throughout the Okanagan area of British Columbia, many international students choose to enroll at one of the two main locations, in Kelowna. This city, which is about a four-hour drive (or forty-minute flight) from Vancouver, is the biggest and most densely populated place in the interior of this province. Students who study in Kelowna can see magnificent mountains, swim in a luxurious lake, and participate in a wide variety of sports throughout the year. It is not surprising that Kelowna has become one of the country's best-loved cities. OC boasts not only a prime setting but also comprehensive programs. College of the Rockies (1963)

College of the Rockies is situated in the heart of East Kootenays. Surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, the area is perfect for outdoor leisure activities. The main campus of the college is in the small town of Cranbrook, a safe and welcoming community that lies in close proximity to both the US border and Banff Provincial Park.

Southern Alberta Institute of Technology SAIT (1916)

The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is a public college situated in Calgary, offering more than 100 programs for International Students to choose from. Selkirk College (1966)

Selkirk College, founded on 1966, was the first British Columbian public college to be recognized by the government. Located in the West Kootenays, between Vancouver and the Rocky Mountains, the Selkirk area experiences four distinct seasons and offers exquisite hiking trails. The campus is famous not only for its natural beauty but also for its safe and friendly atmosphere. Indeed, the people in the area welcome international students, who represent 150 of the 2,500 Selkirk students.

Seneca College (1967)

Seneca College offers over 120 certificates and post-secondary programs. To ensure international students feel at home, the staff at Seneca College act as their "overseas parents". Experienced and professional international advisors provide students with detailed information about the college's programs, thereby helping them succeed in their studies. In addition, the international department organizes special activities, such as trips to Niagara Falls or to Canada's capital, Ottawa, as well as in-school activities, like sporting competitions, to help international students make new friends.

Vancouver Community College (1965)

Vancouver Community College, a government-funded public institution founded in 1965, has three campuses specializing in continuing education. The downtown City Centre Campus offers programs in Hospitality Management, Teaching English as a Second Language, Electronics, Culinary Arts, Computers, Health, Design Drafting, Administrative Assistant, and Baking and Pastry Arts. Students enrolled in the ESL program can take evening courses such as Fashion Design at this campus for the same cost as Canadians.

Also located in beautiful downtown Vancouver is the International Education Centre, which spans an area of 22,000 square feet. For the convenience of international students, all instructors at the Centre are experienced in teaching. As well, the Centre contains a bookstore, a student common area, modern computer labs, and a language-learning center. Students of the institute can take advantage of many bonuses, including free Internet services and tutorial sessions.
