Admissions Requirements

Mature students(over 21 years old) --OR-- 5 GCSE “C”(including Mathematics and English) AND A-LEVEL  (minimum of 2 A-Level“C”) AND TOEFL550 –or--IELTS 6.0

  • For Mature Students, UEL will base on individual’s resume, working experience and interview as admissions criteria.
     

  • If TOEFL or IELTS is lower than the minimum requirement, however, other academic criteria are satisfied, UEL will issue Conditional Letter of Acceptance

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 2+2 Program?

A 2+2 program is also called the “University Transfer Program”. College students can complete their first two years’ University program in a college, then transfer to University third year.

What is SAT? Does International Student need to test SAT?

SAT tests on student’s analytical skills. Starting in 2005, SAT has three parts: writing (multi-choice and essay writing), Reading (short essay and long essay) and Mathematics. Marks are divided into two parts: English and Mathematics. Each part ranges from 200-800 marks, and overall marks range from 400-1600. Students graduate in a U.S. secondary school must take the SAT examination. However, depending on admissions requirement of each post-secondary institute, international students may be waived to take the SAT examination.

3   Can international student work during their studying?

In their first year, he/she cannot work in the United States.

4   What is the expense for one year?

Tuition+Living expenses: 2-year college: US$13,000-17,000/year

4-year University:  US$15,000-24,000/year

5       What types of accommodation does school arrange?

Many community colleges and colleges offer homestay service. A few community colleges also offer residence service. And universities have both homestay and residence options. In addition, school can also provide other apartment accommodation to students to select.
