Medical Insurance Plan

Every province in Canada has its independent medical services plan (MSP), but not every province provides MSP for international students. Of the 10 provinces of Canada, only British Columbia, Alberta & Saskatchewan include international students in their MSP. Other provinces such as Manitoba, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec do not provide public medical insurance for international students. Because the cost for Canadian medical services is very expensive, it is recommended that international students purchase medical insurance during their study period in Canada.

REASONS TO STUDY IN CANADA

High Quality Education

Canada values education immensely. The ratio of money that the Canadian government puts into education is the highest among the seven most industrialized countries in the world. From elementary school to university, the standard of education is maintained at a premium. With more than 160 community colleges and over 60 universities and university colleges to choose from, international students have access to a broad range of programs that issue globally recognized degrees. International students who graduate from these institutions tend to obtain jobs quickly and have better chance of excelling in their career.

Low Tuition Rates

According to statistics, Canada is an economical country in which to study, compared to the United States, United Kingdom, Australia as well as other nations where English is spoken. This is quite remarkable, considering how well the quality of Canadian education is maintained. In addition, the inflation rate in Canada has for years been the lowest amongst industrialized countries and Canada's cost of living is consequently not as high as in other developed countries. With premium standard on education, reasonable cost of studying and living, along with favorable exchange rates, these factors all contribute for reasons for studying in Canada.

Mild Climate

Most regions of Canada have four distinct seasons and the disparity in weather is particularly apparent in the western part of the country. Typically, spring is a rainy season during which temperatures rise steadily. In the western-pacific regions, snow begins to fall around November. The winter season is the shortest in the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island, where temperate drop below 0 degree celsius only for short periods of time in December and in January and where there is the lowest amount of snowfall in Canada. This relatively mild climate causes spring to arrive about two months earlier than it does in the rest of the country. Overall, the mild climate in Canada, especially in the Western region of the country, makes it a very suitable place in which to live and study.
