Medical Insurance Plan |
|
Every province in Canada has its independent medical services plan (MSP),
but not every province provides MSP for international students. Of the 10
provinces of Canada, only British Columbia, Alberta & Saskatchewan
include international students in their MSP.
Other provinces such as Manitoba, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince
Edward Island and Quebec do not provide public medical insurance for
international students. Because the cost for Canadian medical services is
very expensive, it is recommended that international students purchase
medical insurance during their study period in Canada. |

High Quality Education |
|
Canada values education immensely. The ratio of money that the Canadian
government puts into education is the highest among the seven most
industrialized countries in the world. From elementary school to
university, the standard of education is maintained at a premium. With
more than 160 community colleges and over 60 universities and university
colleges to choose from, international students have access to a broad
range of programs that issue globally recognized degrees. International
students who graduate from these institutions tend to obtain jobs
quickly and have better chance of excelling in their career. |
|
Low Tuition Rates |
|
According to statistics, Canada is an economical country in which to
study, compared to the United States, United Kingdom, Australia as well
as other nations where English is spoken. This is quite remarkable,
considering how well the quality of Canadian education is maintained. In
addition, the inflation rate in Canada has for years been the lowest
amongst industrialized countries and Canada's cost of living is
consequently not as high as in other developed countries. With premium
standard on education, reasonable cost of studying and living, along
with favorable exchange rates, these factors all contribute for reasons
for studying in Canada. |

Mild Climate |
|
Most regions of Canada have four distinct seasons and the disparity in
weather is particularly apparent in the western part of the country.
Typically, spring is a rainy season during which temperatures rise
steadily. In the western-pacific regions, snow begins to fall around
November. The winter season is the shortest in the Lower Mainland and on
Vancouver Island, where temperate drop below 0
degree celsius
only for short periods of time in December and in January and where
there is the lowest amount of snowfall in Canada. This relatively mild
climate causes spring to arrive about two months earlier than it does in
the rest of the country. Overall, the mild climate in Canada, especially
in the Western region of the country, makes it a very suitable place in
which to live and study. |

Beautiful and Quality |
|
Studying Environment Canada's beautiful scenery, mild climate, low crime
rate have all contributed to the fact that both the United Nations and
Times Magazine selected Canada as the best place in the world to live.
In addition to these attractive features, Canada also offers a
comprehensive health system, a safe environment, and first-class
educational institutions. |

|
|
Canada is inhabited largely by immigrants, so it is very easy for
Canadian residents to meet people from different ethnic backgrounds and
to hear various languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian,
among many others. With its long tradition of embracing different
cultures, Canada allows people of various backgrounds to maintain their
unique customs and lifestyles within the Canadian society. From studying
here, international students will not only learn about mainstream
western culture but also gain a great deal of multicultural experience.

A Bilingual Country |
|
Canada is a bilingual country whose two official languages are English
and French. While 59% of the Canadian population has English as their
mother tongue, 23% of the population speaks French as their first
language. French is most widely spoken in Quebec and New Brunswick, but
there are French-speaking communities located throughout each province
of Canada. With signs, advertisements, and labels written in both
official languages, Canada offers a great opportunity for international
students to be
exposed to French as well as English. |

providing education, from kindergarten to University. Provincial
governments are also responsible for regulating and supervising both public

completed their 11th, 12th or 13th Grade depending on the provinces they
are residing in. Upon high school completion, students can choose to
continue their post-secondary education in university, college or
Cegep. Cegep is a French acronym for
College of General and Vocational Education and it is between the first
two years of university general studies or three years of vocational
